June Storm Rolls Through Northeast Nebraska

As storms rolled through Northeast Nebraska the evening of June 6th, many area farmers were left with wind and hail damage to their crops. “Storms like this are devastating to those affected. We encourage these producers to be in close communication with their agents to assess damage and put an action plan in place,” stated Josh Gossman, Crop Insurance Specialist with Midwest Bank Agency.
On June 6th, temperatures ranged from 95 degrees to 69 degrees and there were reports of wind speeds sustained at 35 mph with gusts up to 60mph. In addition to the damage to crops, our agents have also heard reports of windows broke out in homes southeast of Wisner.
“Upon news of the storm, I immediately reached out to clients in the affected area to begin the recovery process. The technology that we have in our agency allows us to quickly evaluate the storm and its’ impact, followed up with conversations with producers about the next steps,” added Gossman.
